DAVE WALLER PASSES AWAY Thursday, April 14, 2005
Sadly, the ACPBA lost one of its members recently. Dave Waller used to be a member of the Dartmouth & District Pipe Band in the 1970's and 1980's. On behalf of the ACPBA Membership and Executive, our condolences go to Dave Waller’s family.
David Clifford Waller passed away Saturday, April 9, 2005, after a long and very courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, he was the eldest son of Hal and Cecilia (Comeau) Waller.
He is survived by his parents; his loving wife, Michelle; his wonderful children, Edward, Margaret, James, and Thomas; brother, Jeff, all of Dartmouth; sister, Patti (Philip) Waller Tabor and nephew Benjamin, Windsor, UK; mother-in-law, Theresa (McGrath) Clarke, Halifax.
Dave was an alumnus of St. Mary's University, graduating with his B.A. in 1984 and his B.Ed. in 1985. He was involved with the Dartmouth piping community for the last several years. He was also one of the founders and proud members of the Halifax Citadel Regimental Association, serving on its board of directors from 1994 to 1998. Dave was employed by Canada Post for the last 17 years both as a letter carrier and as a supervisor.
He is loved deeply and will be missed forever. A memorial service and reception was held in St. Thomas More Church, Dartmouth, on Thursday, April 14. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Victorian Order of Nurses.
