FEIS BLOG PROVIDES STAGE FOR CELTIC EXPRESSION Wednesday, March 01, 2006
Blogging has grown in popularity enabling people to share ideas and opinions on virtually any topic. The Halifax Celtic Feis sees blogging like the chatter on the old telephone party line or in a Maritime kitchen party (without the beer!) where people can drop in, give an opinion and share ideas about all things Celtic.
“It seems to be a natural forum to bring people together to express ideas and opinions about the current state of Celtic music, dance, and culture in general”, says Ian MacIsaac, Program Director for the Halifax Celtic Feis. He adds. “We created the blog for the same reasons that inspired us to create the Feis in Halifax in the first place, to provide a stage to express our culture. The internet is providing a cyber stage in a similar way.”
Everyone is invited to join in at www.halifaxcelticfeis.blogspot.com to participate in open discussions about the present state of Nova Scotia’s Celtic culture, the music of the region that has become world famous, or what ever might be top of mind in the Celtic world.
The Halifax Celtic Feis is an international festival celebrating our rich Celtic culture and heritage showcasing traditional and contemporary music, dance, art and literary works. The Halifax Celtic Feis is held annually during the first weekend of June throughout the downtown core of the city. For more information about the Halifax Celtic Feis visit www.halifaxcelticfeis.com.
