CHRIS LEE WINS SECOND PLACING AT GEORGE SHERIFF INVITATIONAL

November 25, 2010.... Chris Lee from the 78th
Highlanders Halifax Citadel Pipe Band, Halifax Nova Scotia, and a member of the
Atlantic Canada Pipe Band Association, won second place at the 2010 George
Sherriff Memorial Amateur Invitational Solo Piping Competition held at St.,
Paul's Church on November 20 in Hamilton, Ontario. Mr. Lee won 2nd place in the
Piobaireachd competition, playing “Crimmon's Sweetheart."
Chris is originally from Sham Shui Po, Hong
Kong, where the pipe tune “The Road to Sham Shui Po” originates. He began piping
in 2003, at age 13. His first introduction to the bagpipes was from his friend,
Roy Lau, who encouraged him to join a local pipe band. After 3 years, he started
taking online lessons from Bruce Gandy. From 2008 to the present time, Chris
spends half the year at the Halifax Citadel School of Piping in Nova Scotia on a
scholarship and fulfilling his dream to play with the 78th Highlanders.
