Canada Games Massed Pipes and Drums Participate in Closing Ceremonies of Canada Winter Games

On Sunday, February 27, the Canada Games Massed Pipes and Drums will participate in the closing ceremonies of the 2011 Canada Winter Games. A total of nine pipe bands in closest proximity of the Halifax Metro area were chosen to participate.

  • 12 Wing Shearwater Pipes and Drums
  • 14 Wing Greenwood Pipes and Drums
  • 1st Battalion, Nova Scotia Highlanders, Truro
  • 78th Highlanders (Halifax Citadel) Pipes and Drums Dartmouth and District Pipes and Drums
  • Halifax Firefighters Pipe Band
  • The Pipes and Drums of Clan Farquharson 33rd Halifax Pipes and Drums
  • RCMP H Division Pipes and Drums

The massed bands will be an impressive part of the program with approximately 166 pipers and drummers on parade from the Canadian Air Force, the Canadian Army, the RCMP and five civilian bands. The show is being broadcasted on TSN 2; please check your local television listing.
