FSSAPB CONCERT IN MARCH!

The Fredericton Society of Saint Andrew Pipe Band is getting ready to perform “The Tradition Continues”, a new production from the pipe band. The performance will be held on Saturday, March 26th, 7:30pm at the Playhouse in beautiful downtown Fredericton. This show has been created to raise funds to help offset the yearly costs of running a pipe band…something that so many of you know about!

The band is very excited for this year’s show, as it will be the first full production under the direction of PM Gord Perry and DS Justin Gallant. “The Tradition Continues” will feature a large amount of new and exciting material, as well as some traditional FSSAPB favourites.

The title “The Tradition Continues” speaks volumes for the FSSAPB. With 2011 marking their 84th year in existence and having gone through many changes over those years, we felt it necessary to name the concert just that. Through all the changes, one thing that has remained is the drive to perform at our best. With the drive and determination, the FSSAPB still remains a band that ranks as one of the top Grade 2 competitive pipe bands in North America.

This concert is the latest production the Pipe Band has undertaken in it’s long and varied history, all of this while gearing up for this year's competition season. The concert will feature excellent piping and drumming, along with Highland Dancing, and what is sure to be some great stories from former band member Frank Scott as the emcee. Joining the band on stage this year will be 2011 East Coast Music Award nominated fiddle sensation Kathleen Gorey-McSorley with Carolyn Holyoke on keyboards. A few band members will also be playing instruments other than the one we generally see them playing with the pipe band. All of this promises to deliver an exciting and thrilling evening of Celtic music.

Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the bands performance.
